About Us

The National Theatre School of Canada

The National Theatre School is an inclusive arts school. Since 1960, it has been training artists, in English and French, in all theatrical trades and professions. Many of its 2100 alumni are among the most active and recognized actors, directors, designers, writers and production professionals in Canada and around the world.

NTS is committed to building a community and breaking down the walls that separate us. NTS now offers workshops for anyone between the ages of 15 and 115 who wants to discover the power of theater as a tool for social and personal development.

The School now has its own Centre for Arts and Social Innovation

To move towards a theater where space and resources are shared equitably, where stories are heard and woven together, and where the practice of art contributes to a more caring world.

And to build bridges between artists and communities and encourage arts practice for wellness, social and mental health.

The Centre creates initiatives such as the Art Connexion online course platform, as well as in-person public courses for all; research laboratories in creation and well-being; and large-scale projects across Canada. For more details, visit the centre’s website: https://centre.ent-nts.ca/
